2012 - The Power of the Canoe

The Power of the Canoe is a story of returning traditional Canoe building to the Youth and the Land

In the summer of 2012 Voyages of Rediscovery travelled to the Community of Bear Island and the Temagami First Nation to build two traditional Birch Bark Canoes. The Youth were involved in every aspect of building the Canoes: harvesting the materials, preparing the materials, and the final costruction of the Canoes.
